My father was a very hard working man. His story is of a true rags to a respectable life journey, but not riches. His younger brother though was a true rags to riches story. Both of them had a way of dealing with life and looking at life differently. It would be essential for me to take you through the life story of my father and my uncle to understand the elements which can make a person happy, lucky and successful.

Born to a farmer family in a remote village of Gorakhpur (North Eastern town of Uttar Pradesh – the most populated state of India) in 1933, he was the youngest of the three sons and had a younger sister. Indian villages in those times had almost no medical facilities and education was a luxury which only rich landlords could afford. For my father, he was destined to pull bullock carts and till the lands along with his brothers.

My grandmother was from a rich landlord background but after her marriage fell upon bad days due to habits of my grandfather who did not like working. Most of the time, he spend in village with his friends catching snakes and fishing. Farming was not his cup of tea because it involved hard labor which he always avoided.
