Teachers were treated like God and whatever they said was the rule for everyone without any questions asked. Punishment in case of any indiscipline was immediate and harsh. This ensured that each student was disciplined and performed very well in their studies.

Two years passed very fast and my father did not even realize that very soon he will be back home after his matriculation was completed. This was the highest he could have studies in this part of the country as there were no further colleges nor did he know how to go about getting into them. The desire to become a “Big Sahib” was however intact and he started wondering about moving to the nearest university – Benaras Hindu University and get into graduation courses. However money and direction was the problem. His father too now had lost his patience and he wanted him back home to help him in his farming.
