Just before the exams the school was closed for about thirty days. This was the time; students studied back at home and came back to their school for final exams. My father too came back home and took to studies thinking nothing more than studies. Surprisingly there was no interference from anyone at home. Hari kept to himself and my grandfather was discussing a lot with outsiders on subjects which he did not want to share with anyone.
It was a summer morning and the morning ten o clock train had just arrived at the village station. Station master saw a uniformed man climbing down the train. To him he was a stranger as he was just two years at the station. His assistant, who was from the village however stood where he was and kept looking at the man. There were only two men who got down at the station that day. The assistant could contain no more. He ran and embraced the man in uniform “Bhagwati brother, we thought that you are no more”.
The word spread alike wild fire in the village. Bhagwati has retuned, almost after four years of his leaving the village.
